Alice Mayor wellness for tired women

Hello, I am Alice.

A registered nutritionist and medical doctor.

I am also mum to Atti and we live in the beautiful city of Bath.

My Passion

I have always been passionate about food and nutrition, but during my work as a doctor within the NHS, I became very aware of the impact that diet and lifestyle has on health. More importantly however was my realisation that nutrition and lifestyle can transform how we feel and, in some cases, reverse disease.

My Journey

This prompted me to study nutrition to a higher level. I completed my masters in nutrition from King’s College London in 2019, became a registered nutritionist and at the beginning of 2022 I decided to launch my own nutrition and wellbeing business. I am registered with the association for nutrition so you can trust the information I give is evidence based.

My time as a doctor has shown me that a holistic approach to wellness is what makes a real difference to health. I believe in making gentle changes and building lasting habits when it comes to food. No fad diets here.

My Philosophy

I do believe however that there is no one size fits all when it comes to nutrition and therefore a personalised approach that suits you as an individual is what is going to make a difference. Food is also so much more than its nutritional value. It is to be enjoyed and shared with friends and family and should be a joyous unrestricted experience. I hope through working with you, I can also inspire a love of food and cooking.

Being a busy mum, I know the barriers that many face when it comes to prioritising your own health and wellbeing. I can assure you however that it is possible to enjoy all foods without restrictions and rules but still eat in a way that optimises your health both physically and mentally.

My Interests

I work with a range of clients, from those simply wanting to improve their general health through diet and lifestyle, to those seeking help with weight management. I am very interested in women’s health from pre-conception, pregnancy through to the post-natal period and beyond. I also love working with babies and young children whether that’s helping with the weaning journey, fussy eaters or just helping your young family with general nutrition and healthy eating.

My Experience

Given my broad medical experience I can help with a variety of issues so please do get in touch if you want to work with me or have any questions. I would love to hear from you.

I am also available for collaborations, help with nutrition for business and charities so do get in touch.

  • A woman feeds her playing baby

When is it the right time to wean your baby?

What I would advise is not to leave weaning too long beyond 6 months, even If your baby is slow to take to solids that is fine and it can be built at gentle pace. There are 3 important signs to look out for that will indicate if your baby is ready for food.

    How sleep affects eating habits

Most will attest to the fact that when they are tired and sleep-deprived, their eating habits change. We know about the importance of sleep and that insufficient sleep is associated with multiple negative health outcomes. But how does lack of sleep affect eating habits?
